Who was Muhammad Bin Qasim?

Muhammad Bin Qasim is known as the conqueror of the Sindh and Multan. He was a young and bold man. At the age of only 17 years, he conquered Sindh. When he attacked Debal and killed Raja Dahir, after conquering Sindh, he did not stop his struggle but he continued his conquests. He also defeated ruler of Multan and conquered Multan.

Early Life: Muhammad Bin Qasim was born in Dec 695 A.D at Taif, Saudi Arabia. When Hajaj Bin Yousuf was appointed as Governor of Iraq. Then he appointed Muhammad's father Qasim as Governor of Basra. When Muhammad Bin Qasim was only 5 years old, his father passed from this world. Muhammad Bin Qasim was intelligent from childhood. He could not gain education due to poverty. Then he joined the Army, There he proved him as a good Warrior.

Muhammad Bin Qasim was a very intelligent, good warrior and also a good leader, Due to his abilities, he was appointed as Governor of Sheraz at the age of only 17 years. Later, he was appointed to lead campaign of Sindh.

Muslim traders were nestled at the shore of SriLanka, in 8th century, a few Muslim groups including children and women were on a voyage to Arab. When the ship reached the Debal port, it was attacked by pirates. The pirates robbed the luggage and material and prisoned the children and women. Hajjaj Bin Yousuf came to know this incident. He wrote a letter to Raja Dahir of Sindh to arrest those robbers and free the children and women along with their luggage. Raja Dahir refused to do this. that refusal made Hajjaj Bin Yousuf very furious. He decided to punish Raja Dahir and sent Muslim army to Sindh.

Death: Muhammad Bin Qasim's death was not occurred on the battlefield or due to any disease. He was killed by his rulers. Some people said that, when Sulaiman Bin Abdul Malik became Governor of Iraq after Hajjaj Bin Yousuf. Sulaiman Bin AMalik did not like Hajjaj Bin Yousuf. Then he arrested the companions of Hajjaj Bin Yousuf. Muhammad Bin Qasim was one of them. When he was in prison, due to violence, Muhammad Bin Qasim's death occurred in 715 A.D at the age of 20.
